Tyremax New Zealand grew out of a small automotive wholesaling business founded in 1972 which sold a wide range of consumables including tubes and tyre repair products. From 1994 the business traded as Southern Distributing Company and began supplying passenger & light commercial tyres to an extensive network of tyre retailers. Southern Distributing Company focused on providing outstanding service and rapid delivery throughout the South Island.
In January 2007 the business name was changed to Tyremax New Zealand, reflecting the product range which by this time was dominated by car and 4WD tyres. In May 2007 we acquired the business known as Tyremax North Island. This business had started out as A-Class Tyres, becoming Specialty Tyres before rebranding as Tyremax in early 2007. This key acquisition gave Tyremax an integrated nationwide wholesaling business. Since 2007 we have continued to expand our distribution, based on our commitment to offer outstanding service to the tyre industry.
Now looking into 2012 and onwards, Tyremax New Zealand’s original commitment to outstanding customer service remains a vital part of our way of doing business. We continually seek ways to improve our customer service and deliver an even more exceptional customer experience, and we look forward to introducing more exciting new initiatives to help us achieve these goals.
